Family Villas Near Mumbai, With Kids in Mind
Whole-property villas with turf, games rooms and ensuite bedrooms — chosen for what actually matters when children are along.
Ask on WhatsAppWhat Families Actually Need From a Villa
A villa that photographs well and a villa that works with children are not always the same thing. With kids in the group the questions change: is the pool shallow enough at one end, is there ground-floor sleeping for grandparents, is there something to do when it rains, and is the kitchen usable at odd hours for a toddler who eats on their own schedule.
All our properties are booked whole — no other guests, no shared pool, no corridor to keep quiet in. For a family that is often the deciding factor over a resort, where you spend the weekend managing everyone else's proximity.
Our Villas That Work Well With Children
Karvi Farm — Karjat
A private cricket turf on the property, which solves the afternoon entirely. A 4BHK farmhouse sleeping 20, and the closest of our villas to Mumbai at about 1.5 hours — which matters when a child asks how much longer.

Greenwood Villa — Igatpuri
Six ensuite bedrooms, so each family unit gets its own room and bathroom. Floodlit rooftop turf for the older kids, private pool for the younger ones, and space for three generations without anyone on a sofa.

Dolce Villa — Igatpuri
An indoor gaming room — the answer to a rained-out afternoon in Igatpuri. Five bedrooms around a central courtyard, so parents can see the kids without following them.

Carpe Diem — Lonavala
Two separate living areas, so the children can be loud in one while the adults sit in the other. Pool with a waterfall, a lawn with lounge seating, and a twin-bed room for kids.

Madhavi's Villa — Lonavala
The smallest and simplest of our villas — 3BHK for 16 guests. A year-round pool rather than a seasonal one, which suits families travelling outside peak months.
View villaQuestions Worth Asking Before You Book
- Pool depth and supervision. None of our pools are lifeguarded — children need an adult with them at all times. Ask us the depth of a specific pool before booking if that decides it for you.
- Ground-floor bedrooms. If grandparents are coming, stairs matter more than square footage. Tell us and we will point you to the right property.
- Wet-weather plan. In the monsoon, ask what there is to do indoors. Dolce Villa's gaming room and Greenwood's indoor spaces are the two we recommend for July and August.
- Kitchen access. Some villas include meals with fixed timings; others give you a full kitchen. With a small child, the second is often worth more.
- Drive time. Karjat at 1.5 hours and Lonavala at 2 hours are far easier with young children than Igatpuri at 2.5 hours.
Choosing by Group Shape
One family, 8–16 people. Madhavi's Villa in Lonavala or Karvi Farm in Karjat — both manageable in size and close to Mumbai.
Two or three families together, 20–30. Carpe Diem or Dolce Villa, where separate living areas stop the group becoming one loud room.
Full family reunion, 30–40. Greenwood Villa is the only property in our portfolio built for that headcount.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which villa near Mumbai is best for a family with young children?
Karvi Farm in Karjat is the one we suggest most often — it is the closest to Mumbai at about 1.5 hours, has a private cricket turf, and is a manageable size at 20 guests. For larger families, Greenwood Villa in Igatpuri gives every family unit its own ensuite bedroom.
Are your pools safe for children?
Our pools are private to your group but not lifeguarded, so children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Pool depth varies by property — ask us about a specific villa and we will tell you before you book.
Is there anything to do if it rains?
Yes. Dolce Villa in Igatpuri has an indoor gaming room, and most properties have large indoor living areas. If you are travelling in the monsoon, tell us — it changes which villa we would recommend.
Do you have villas with ground-floor bedrooms for elderly guests?
Several of our properties have ground-floor sleeping. Tell us who is travelling and we will match you to one where stairs are not an issue.
Can we cook our own food for a child?
At villas without a meals-inclusive package the kitchen is fully available to guests. Where meals are included, timings are usually fixed — mention a small child when you enquire and we will flag which villas suit you.
Which is the shortest drive from Mumbai with kids?
Karjat is closest at roughly 65 km and 1.5 hours. Lonavala is about two hours. Igatpuri, at about 2.5 hours, is the longest of our destinations.
